Explore the Falkland Islands, fantastic South Georgia, the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula on this extraordinary journey. Our adventure starts with a visit to the fascinating Falkland Islands. The capital of Port Stanley with its quaint English architecture is on our list as well as landings and wildlife viewing on pristine and protected beaches. Our next stop is South Georgia, one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Wildlife-rich beaches, active research stations, former whaling stations and a visit to Shackleton's final resting place are on the agenda for the next few days. From here, we plot our course toward the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. In the South Shetland Islands we will make Zodiac landings at penguin rookeries, research stations and fascinating viewpoints. The sub-Antarctic islands and Antarctic Peninsula are a nature photographer's paradise and we will attempt as many landings per day as weather conditions permit to bring you close to the beauty of Antarctica. After leaving Antarctica behind, we will spend the last sea days bird watching from the top deck and attending interesting lectures, and workshops in one of the ship's lounges as we cross the Drake Passage and sail back to Ushuaia.

First day: Arrival at Ushuaia, Arrival at

Second to penultimate day: On expedition cruise... Ice, weather and wildlife observation will determine the route.

Last day: Disembarkation at Ushuaia and return home.

The captain and expedition leader will determine the itinerary depending on the above mentioned factors and will inform you daily about the events. DAY 1 ARRIVAL AND EMBARKATION IN USHUAIA

Arrive and embark in Ushuaia, Argentina - the southernmost city in the world. Explore the picturesque city or the local countryside. Alternatively, consider a day trip off the beaten tracks to the raw, natural archipelago of Tierra del Fuego, or a tour to the nearby Tierra del Fuego National Park. It's a hiker's paradise with rugged snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and flower-filled meadows.

In the afternoon, we board the Ocean Atlantic, our home for the next few days.

Our journey begins as we navigate the calm waters of the Beagle Channel, a strait in the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago.

DAY 2 AT SEA, HEADING TO THE FALKLAND ISLANDS

During your first day at sea, you'll get to know your ship properly and follow some mandatory information briefings. Days at sea are great for attending lectures and other expedition team activities, reading books in the ship's library, and watching the omnipresent petrels and albatrosses from above. Or just relaxing.

DAY 3-4 PORT STANLEY AND THE FALKLAND ISLANDS

During the morning we will approach the Falkland Islands and in the early afternoon the Ocean Atlantic will enter the protected natural harbor of Port Stanley and drop anchor. With our Zodiacs we will land in the city center and take a leisurely stroll through the streets of Stanley.

The next day, weather permitting, we will land at two of the islands' many glorious sites.

DAY 5-6 EN ROUTE TO SOUTH GEORGIA

From the Falkland Islands we will sail across the Southern Ocean towards South Georgia. Here in the Southern Ocean, it pays to keep your eyes open. The waters are rich in fish and krill; ideal hunting grounds for seabirds, seals and whales. With the help of your guides, you'll quickly learn to tell a blue whale from a humpback. By the color, the fins or just by the blow.

DAY 7-11 SOUTH GEORGIA, NATURAL PARADISE IN THE SOUTH ATLANTIC

On the seventh day of your expedition, land appears on the horizon. South Georgia offers breathtaking wildlife experiences with an abundance of breeding penguins, seabirds, sea lions and seals all seeking shelter in this oasis amidst the roaring Southern Ocean. Remnants of earlier whaling history can be found in most of the fjords we will explore - not least Grytviken, the only inhabited settlement on this mountainous island. Grytviken is also the final resting place for Ernest Shackleton, who died in 1922 on his fourth great Antarctic voyage. We will explore the fjords of the north coast for 2-3 days, making as many landings as weather conditions allow.

DAY 12-13 AT SEA TOWARDS THE SOUTHERN SHETLAND ISLANDS. LECTURES AND BIRD WATCHING

We spend the next few days in the southern waters of the South Atlantic, crossing the 60th parallel south, and from now on we are in the notorious surges of the Southern Ocean. But our ship is reliable, experienced and strong and you don't have to worry. Although a seasickness remedy may be in order from time to time. During our time at sea, various activities are organized on board and it is a perfect opportunity to socialize with other travelers.

As the white glow of Antarctica appears on the horizon, the wildlife multiplies with many species of lively penguins, curious seals and countless seabirds.

DAY 14-19 ANTARCTIC PENINSULA AND SOUTHERN SHETLAND ISLANDS

In the coming days, we will begin the exciting Antarctic experience at the very tip of the seventh continent.

The itinerary and activities for the next few days will depend on weather and ice conditions. The route and landings will be determined by the captain and expedition leader and communicated to guests during regularly scheduled briefings.

Wildlife is abundant on the Antarctic Peninsula: leopard seals, fur seals and Weddell seals on Cuverville Island, humpback whales in Gerlache Strait, Paradise Bay and orcas in the dramatic Lemaire Channel, and of course thousands of penguins

Days at sea are perfect for enjoying the seascapes, relaxing or participating in the shipboard program.

DAY 20-21 CROSSING THE DRAKE PASSAGE TO USHUAIA

Today we leave Antarctica and spend two days at sea on our way back to the calm waters of the Beagle Channel and Ushuaia, Argentina. Along the way, we will pass through the Drake Passage and pass Cape Horn, a legendary maritime landmark and the southern tip of South America.

During our time at sea, various activities will be organized on board and it will be the perfect opportunity to review some of the fantastic moments we have experienced on our great voyage.

DAY 22 ARRIVAL IN USHUAIA AND DISEMBARKATION

This morning we arrive back in Ushuaia to conclude our journey, where you can continue your adventures on the mainland or start your journey home.
